With the theme “China in the New Era,” China Development Forum 2018 was held on March 24-26, 2018 at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. At an invitation from the Development Research Center of the State Council of China, CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech at the “Pollution Prevention and Control” session. He also conducted in-depth discussions with other guests on energy saving, emission reduction and environmental protection.

On March 13, CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan received visiting Chairman and CEO of Shaklee Corporation Roger Barnett and his accompanying delegation at CECEP’s headquarters, Jieneng Building.

From January 22 to 26, 2018, the 48th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting took place in Davos, Switzerland. Xiao Yaqing, head of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of China’s State Council, and executives of some central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) attended the meeting. At an invitation from Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the WEF, CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan attended the opening ceremony and a number of events including “Chinese Opportunities in the New Era,” “Circular Economy,” “CEO Dialogue: China and the World” and “China Night.”

Good news has arrived for scientific and technological workers at CECEP. At the 2017 National Science and Technology Awarding Meeting held in Beijing on January 8, the “key technology of rotary multi-step pyrolytic incineration of hazardous wastes and coordinated pollutant control,” jointly developed by CECEP Dadi Environmental Remediation Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang University, won Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award.

On January 8, CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan met with Mr. Bert Hofman, World Bank’s Country Director for China, and his accompanying delegation. Both sides reviewed their past cooperation and had discussions on promoting cooperation in green finance, green fund and credit and loan. Consensus was reached between the two sides on the establishment of a long-term cooperative partnership.

From December 20 to 22, CECEP Deputy CEO Yu Honghui headed a team to Fuchuan Yao Autonomous County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for an inspection on the work of targeted poverty alleviation.

Beginning in 2015, the Capital Holdings Co., Ltd. and Huayu Fund Management Co., Ltd. under CECEP, the principal performers of the project, spent nearly three years preparing and establishing the fund. During the period from 2015 through 2020, ADB should provide a policy-based loan not exceeding US>500 million each year to help China tackle the daunting problem of air pollution in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. As part of a years-long, multi-sector support program, the fund is expected to contribute to the improvement of air quality in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and generate considerable social benefits.

On December 8, CECEP Oriental Shuangyashan Building Materials Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “CECEP Oriental”) signed a contract with Hexagon Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Bangladesh’s Edison Group, at the headquarters of Edison Group to build a production line with a capacity of daily manufacturing 100,000 sintered bricks.
