Jointly organized by China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and Ministry of Commerce and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Japan-China Economic Association, the 14th China-Japan Comprehensive Forum on Energy Saving and Environmental Protection was held in Beijing and Tokyo via video link on December 20. He Lifeng, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and director of NDRC, and Hiroshi Kajiyama, minister of METI, delivered keynote speeches.
The China-Japan Comprehensive Forum on Energy Saving and Environmental Protection is a comprehensive event in the field of energy conservation and environmental protection approved by China’s NDRC and Ministry of Commerce and Japan’s METI and Japan-China Economic Association. Since it was launched in 2006, the forum has been held annually in rotation between Beijing and Tokyo, with a total of 388 cooperation agreements signed so far. It has become an important platform for promoting economic and technological cooperation between China and Japan, especially in the field of energy conservation and environmental protection, which is highly valued by the governments and economic circles of both countries. This year’s event saw signing of 14 cooperation projects between enterprises, institutions and associations of both sides.
At the signing ceremony, Yang Lixin, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of the Board of Directors of CECEP Industrial Energy Conservation Co., Ltd., signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Chen Xu, director of Marketing Department of Ebara Refrigeration Equipment & Systems (China) Co., Ltd. Based on the principle of “utilizing complementary advantages to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results and common development,” the two sides agree to focus on their respective development strategies while continuously expanding cooperation through market-oriented strategic synergy. Further cooperation will be focused on areas such as energy-saving and environmental protection technology introduction, green data center, industrial Internet, smart energy, and energy utilization, and measures such as improving enterprises’ energy information processing capability, energy optimization, and updating the methods of energy consumption will be adopted to reduce the production and operation costs of the enterprises.
