First 5.5 MW Turbine at CECEP Yangjiang Offshore Wind Farm Installed

On March 8, with support and efforts of all parties, the first 5.5 MW turbine at Yangjiang Offshore Wind Farm affiliated to China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) was successfully installed. 

As CECEP’s first offshore wind power project and largest single investment project, Yangjiang Offshore Wind Farm plans to build 55 5.5MW turbines and a 220kV booster station. When completed and put into operation, the wind farm is expected to generate 793 million kilowatt-hours a year, which is of great significance to driving green development of the local economy and propelling the transformation and upgrading of the regional economy. The offshore project was officially launched in May 2019, and by the end of 2019, construction had been completed for foundations of five turbines, laying of a 220 kV submarine cable, foundation of the offshore booster station and main body of the centralized control center.
