On May 22, 2018, a test system for the megavolt-class ultrahigh-voltage (UHV) AC-DC power transmission and transformation equipment developed by the CECEP won the third prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Shaanxi Province. The system is unparalleled in terms of scale and technological level in the world.
Approved by the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the project serves as a national key experimental research facility for the development of UHV transmission in China and the implementation of the country’s West-East Power Transmission Project.
The project was completed and accepted in February 2012. The acceptance committee agreed that the test system achieved the expected goal and even went beyond expectations. Its comprehensive test capability and test conditions have reached the world’s leading level, and its test capability for high voltage power equipment ranks first in the world.
So far, a number of research results carried out on the test platform have won awards, such as the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Progress Award.
