In order to explore the energy conservation and environmental protection market in countries along the Belt and Road, State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) Chairman Xiao Yaqing and Vice Chairwoman Huang Danhua led a delegation to the Republic of Belarus from July 31 to August 4, 2017. The members include other SASAC officials and central SOE executives including CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan.
On July 18, 2017, CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan met with Tom Nides, vice chairman of Morgan Stanley and former U.S. deputy secretary of state. After reviewing the sound foundation for bilateral cooperation, they agreed that there is huge potential and room for future cooperation, and that the two companies should tap into their respective advantages to advance their cooperation.
On June 27, 2017 the 11th Summer Davos Forum opened in Dalian. Premier Li Keqiang gave an opening speech, and more than 2,000 guests from 80-plus countries including CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan were present. Mr. Liu later participated in the discussion on China’s clean technology revolution.
On June 20-21, 2017, the Ninth U.S.-China CEO and Former Senior Officials’ Dialogue was held in Beijing, co-hosted by China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE) and U.S. Chamber of Commerce. CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan attended the event and gave a speech. Among the 34 participants were CCIEE Chairman Zeng Peiyan, business leaders, former senior officials and scholars from China and the U.S. They held frank discussions on trade and economic relations between the two countries after Xi-Trump meeting at the Mar-a-Lago resort. Their topics included the 100-Day Plan, infrastructure, two-way investment, cooperation on production capacity, and digital economy.
On June 1, the East Africa Branch of China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC), a second-tier subsidiary of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP), signed a contract with Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) at TANROADS headquarters for the project of Upgrading of Mpemba-Isongole Road (50.3 KM) to Bitumen Standard. With a contract value of US>47.91 million and a contractual construction period of 24 months, the project is funded by the Tanzanian government.
On June 1, the unveiling ceremony of SUC International Exchange and Practice Base for Sustainable Community was held at CECEP Shanghai International Energy Conservation & Environmental Protection Park. CECEP CEO Wang Tongzhou attended and addressed the ceremony.
On May 23, 2017, CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan met with David Aikman, World Economic Forum’s chief representative officer for Greater China. In their talks they agreed that there is huge room for cooperation between CECEP and the World Economic Forum. They also held in-depth discussions on strengthening their cooperation.
On May 4, China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC), a second-tier subsidiary of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP), successfully won the bid to build experts’ dormitories for the China-aided Kiir Mayardit Women’s Hospital in South Sudan. The project will break ground on August 15, 2017.
